Marco Gallini graduated in 2000 in civil engineering at "La Sapienza" University of Rome. His experimental thesis concerned the use of elastic waves for the evaluation of the cracking state of tunnels. After an experience as an infrastructure designer, he began his 18 years long experience in RFI, the Italian national railway network management company, as a maintenance engineer first, and then as the head of the Operation Unit of Bari. From 2013 to 2015 he has been in charge of the Regional Infrastructure Department in Naples, and in 2016 moved back to the RFI headquarters in Rome as the head of the Operation Safety Department. Since 2017 he is serving as the head of the Central Diagnostics and Maintenance Vehicles Department in Rome.
